We are proud to announce that our charity of the year is local charity Dreamdrops – Huntingdonshire’s Children’s charity. Dreamdrops has been chosen by our very own staff forum, and the charity is located just a few minutes down the road from us.
Dreamdrops raises money for the two units at Hinchingbrooke Hospital; the Holly Ward, which is a children’s unit caring for sick children, and the Special Care Baby Unit, which cares for premature and sick babies, run by Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.
They also support community children’s services to make sure they get the right support in the community.
Dreamdrops has been supporting children since 2005. Any money raised is used to buy items that aren’t NHS funded, but that are so important in order to provide more of a ‘Home from Home’ atmosphere for children and their families, at what is often a stressful time. An example of some of these items includes:
The staff forum will be running lots of events for us to raise funds for Dreamdrops, which we’re sure will include a ‘Bake off’ or two!
