This summer Just Digital supported the Prince’s Trust’s 12-week Team programme, by welcoming Aidan to the company for a 2-week work placement.
The Prince’s Trust’s Team programme is designed to help young people discover hidden talents, develop confidence and gain a nationally recognised qualification. The 12-week programme covers a variety of activities, with a work placement opportunity to help put the skills they have developed into action in the workplace.
Aidan had a creative interest, and so spent 2 weeks with our Graphic Services department learning the tools and software used in a design studio. With a particular interest in illustration, Aidan took his own hand-drawn illustrations and converted them into digital artwork with the support of the JD team. He subsequently compiled a book of his artwork, which Aidan was then able to take professionally printed copies away with him.
Just Digital really enjoyed helping Aidan develop his skills and he was a pleasure to have in the studio:
“Aidan was a delight to have in the studio for the two weeks that he was with us. At first it seemed like the size of the studio may have been a little daunting but he soon came out of his shell and became part of the team. Aidan brought great enthusiasm to work with him every day and had a real desire to learn as much about the software as he could in the time he was here. As soon as he showed me his sketchbook we scanned in some pages and started showing him how to use Adobe Illustrator to digitally bring his pieces to life. He took to the software like a duck to water and spent the next two weeks honing his skills and producing some fantastic digital illustrations. All in all it was lovely to have him join us for the two weeks and we were sad to see him go.”

At the end of the 12-weeks, Just Digital were incredibly proud to attend Aidan’s presentation, sporting t-shirts designed by Aidan himself, and to see the valuable skills he had developed as part of the Prince’s Trust Team programme.
